The tranquil scenic views in Gozo are also the backdrop for thrilling adventures.

For some holidaymakers this means engaging in exciting activities which cannot be undertaken everyday!

Here are five ideas that you need to think of when you’re in Gozo!

Climbing and Abseiling

Provided that you do not have a fear of heights, climbing and abseiling in Gozo is truly a delight! The rugged valleys and the gorges provide a variety of routes, descents and challenges for both the novice and the expert climbers. Places like Ta’ Ċenċ cliffs and Mġarr ix-Xini Valley top the list, where the deep valley chasms, caves and caverns, offer the perfect setting for an adventure that brings one in touch with nature.

Kayaking

Take out a kayak and tour the coast of the island. You’ll get a completely different perspective on the island and you’ll explore places which you can only reach in this manner.  Bemberin beach is one such beach that you will enjoy.  Head out to Comino, where you can enjoy the turquoise water of the Blue Lagoon. Talk to a Gozo expert operator about outdoor activities as this will guide you safely through incredibly beautiful itineraries.

Diving

Diving needs no introduction. Gozo is clearly pinned as one of Europe’s top diving destinations.  The thriving marine life at the many diving sites, a good number of wrecks and a choice of diving clubs and schools to help you out, mean that there’s no excuse from holding you back from booking your first dive! You might even get to catch sight of a seahorse!

Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Another sea bound activity is stand up paddle boarding.   Similar to kayaking this activity has become more popular in recent years.  Some operators offer guided stand up paddling for visitors to enjoy sunset, right from the sea. An amazing experience!

Zip line

And on a concluding note, you might be lucky enough to be in Gozo when there is a zip line activity being held at Dwejra!  Then you can enjoy the amazing sensation of zipping through the air above the Inland Sea.
